What is Nociceptive Pain?
Nociceptive pain is one of the 2 major types of physical pain. The other is called neuropathic pain. Nociceptive pain is the more common type of the two. It is triggered by potentially harmful stimuli being. Nociceptors around the body help to detect this.
Nociceptors are types of receptor which exist to feel all or any pain that’s likely to be caused by the body being harmed. These harms may include mechanical/physical, chemical, and thermal damage to various parts of the body.
The damaged areas could include the muscles, bones, or tissues. Chemical damage is caused by contact with toxic substances or hazardous chemicals. Exposure to very hot or cold temperatures leads to thermal damage.
